Important curriculum note: The IB MYP is a framework, not one universal chapter-by-chapter national syllabus. Schools develop units using subject-group aims, key and related concepts, global contexts and local requirements. The topic examples below are planning guides, not a claim that every school teaches an identical sequence. The IB specifies at least 50 teaching hours per subject group in each programme year.
Approaches to learning and interdisciplinary study
Across all subject groups, learners develop research, communication, collaboration, critical and creative thinking, and self-management skills. Interdisciplinary units connect at least two subject groups around a shared inquiry. The MYP also culminates in a long-term project.
